![]() Part of me will mourn the available space when it gets more popular. Nitrogen frozen ice cream is fun to watch and fast. They were advertising Happy Hour, so I'm sure they exist, but I could not see them or know how to order. There was a sign for a winery, but I was not sure if they were part of Chewology, or a ghost vendor. When the weather gets warmer, the outside tables will get full use. There are games on the tables, encouraging you to hang out while you eat or have coffee. THe Pros: I love the sunny, laidback atmosphere. Service at Topp'd on Sunday was a little.disinterested, shall we say? Some of the food prices are higher than I would pay on a regular basis. The Cons are that the place does seem to not be filling its full potential of having more vendors. There are a few eating places: Topp'd (pizza, salad and grinders), Madman's (BBQ, Chili Dogs, tacos and the most important-Nitrogen frozen ice cream), Chewology (dumplings, noodles rice), The Roasterie Café and a couple local vendors selling tamales, baked goods and gifts. The atmosphere was good, but the Public Market in itself appears to be in the early stages of something good. I had heard about this place from a couple people and decided to try it out. Getting to it from the parking garage without taking steps is a little tricky. The Public Market is located just below the City Hall. It's also the future site of the Lenexa Public Library. I'm excited about having more restaurants and shops on this side of town. The Lenexa Community Center is in the midst of a building boom. I look forward to see how this area develops. We actually stayed for lunch and played cards. So they are making this a place to encourage community gathering. The place has several tables and a comfy sitting area along with several board and card games. There is two levels, but only I food place upstairs, the rest were down stairs. However, there is an indoor public market that has several "booths" that apparently food vendors and arts and craft vendors can rent (if I understand the concept) on a weekly basis. They run that market on Saturday and Tuesday mornings. The outdoor farmer's market was line up against the public parking structure. around, I ended up parking in their parking structure which is free public parking. First of all there is a lot of construction going on in the area. I was doing farmer's market with friends and she told me that Lenexa now has a farmer's market so we checked it out. In the Kid Zone, children up to 11 years old will have supervised playtime for a maximum of 2 hours at a time. If you’re bringing children with you while you work out or take a fitness class, they can have fun in the Kid Zone. You must be 16 or older to use the equipment freely, but children ages 12-15 can use it after taking a youth equipment orientation. The third floor of the Rec Center is the fitness floor, housing gym equipment and an indoor walking track. Open-play basketball is always available, and volleyball and pickleball are available on a rotation. This gym is less open, as it can only be used for basketball, volleyball, and pickleball. The second gym in the facility is on the second floor. The activity gym has built-in soccer goals as well as court lines for pickleball and dodgeball. The Rec Center hosts many scheduled events in the activity gym, but people can use the space freely when there isn’t an event taking place. If you’re a member of the Lenexa Rec Center, the pool is free otherwise, the cost is $9 for Lenexa residents and $12 for non-residents.Īlso in the Rec Center is the activity gym: a fully enclosed gym space that has a wide variety of uses. The Lenexa Rec Center offers a lot of amenities, including an indoor pool with slides, a lazy river, a kiddie pool, and a warm water wellness pool.
